how do i buy a black berry phone without a contract?

ok so i got a phone a few months ago but i got a 2 year contract with it. some how the screen busted and now i need a new one. is there any way i can get another phone or will i have to be stuck with it until the 2 years are over.
edit: i dont have the blackberry phone . i wanted to buy one.
but if i have a way different phone, can i buy a new one and use that contract with the black berry?

Blackberry phones require a special service plan that is usually about double what a regular phone plan costs, also you will pay a fortune for a blackberry unless your contract is due or you buy one on ebay.

Personally I bought a blackberry 7520on ebay and I use a Boost mobile prepaid Sim Card in it, I have installed my own gmail, gmaps and web browser so I can get online without blackberry special service, I only pay $20 every 3 months to keep it going cause they dont charge me for web and that is the minimum to keep it active, i hadly ever talk on it but the web is very nice especially with the new OperaMini web browser its the real web not the WAP mobile web.
